Chef Resty's Roast Beef Experience

I have been seeing Chef Resty's at SM Marikina for quite sometime and I am always tempted to give it a try. Today, I finally gave in.

We decided to try the basics. They have this Combo Meal #1 worth 150php, which includes a Roast Beef and a siding,  and Combo Meal #2 170php, which includes roast beef and 2 sidings of your choice. Sidings can be rice, mashed potato, marble potatoes, corn & carrots, ciabatta bread, tortilla chips with cheese, spaghetti with olive oil, basil & garlic.

Combo Meal #1 (Php150)

Combo Meal #2 (Php170)

And yes, you are right, I chose rice (Oh how can I live without it!) on the side and the husband got the same plus corn and carrots.

The taste? Love it. I love any beef dish and I think you can't really rely on my review when it concerns any beef dish. I confess, I am biased. But the husband loving it? It must be good. He is not a fan of such but he surprisingly enjoyed it.

The serving is just okay. Just enough for a moderate appetite. It's worth the price, anyway.

Are we going back? Definitely. There's a lot more to try on their menu!

Ever had a taste of Chef Resty's roast beef?

Free Starbucks Drink

Ever been lucky to have a "long receipt" on one of your Starbucks visits?

I have been... twice.

Getting a "long receipt" means you are one of the random few who get to answer some questions about your recent store visit and you get a tall drink for free in return. You will need to log on MyStarbucksVisit.ph and answer a few questions there regarding how the staff were. So yes, having a long receipt makes the staff extra friendly to you. Haha!

The other day, right after the scary thunderstorm in the metro, the husband and I decided to grab some hot drinks to keep us warm. And because I have this free drink, we only paid for the husband's cup. Cool!

Hope to get another lucky receipt on my next visit.

Thanks, Starbucks!

Two New Angels

A month ago, I sent two angels back to heaven.

March 20, 2015, I had my scheduled check up wih my OB. I was 9 weeks and a day pregnant at that time. The week before that, I was put to complete bedrest due to some spotting and bleeding. I was really uncomfortable and uneasy then. Come the date of my check up, I was trying to be calm. I prayed that if the ultrasound will show no sign of life, I will have the courage to accept it.

TVS. No fetal heartbeat was detected. My OB wanted us to get a second opinion so she referred us to the hospital she's affiliated to get a bigger picture of the sonogram. She reminded me to let her know the result as soon as I get it and that we will see each other at the hospital in a few.

We rushed, got some ultrasound and the sonologist found two babies. I got excited! Unfortunately, he can't detect a single heartbeat. I can sense the hope and disappointment in his face. He keep on trying, waiting for the heartbeat, but there was none. I wanted to cry. But I tried to keep my composure. It was the fastest but longest minutes of my life. Fast because I can't believe that I lost them that easy. And long because it took me some time to realize that I am no longer pursuing the pregnancy.

My OB came, gave her the result and I saw how sad she was, especially after seeing that I was supposed to have twins. But we are all positive and my safety is our concern at the moment. Since the babies died inside, I have to undergo D&C to avoid complications and infections.

That same day, I was admitted and was scheduled for operation that afternoon.

It was heartbreaking, but I know that it was part of God's beautiful plan. It was meant to happen. My twins are meant to be my little angels in heaven. And no matter how painful it is, I have to be strong and accept what He has prepared for me. He has bigger plans than my dreams and I have faith that His will is much more than my heart's desire.

Summer Rain

It has been a really hot morning. Felt like 36˚c that you sweat by just doing... nothing. Facebook Newsfeed is filled by "hot" posts. Everybody's complaining. Today is really one flaming day.

But come early afternoon, the skies went dark and thunderstorms showered the Metro and its outskirts. That was really heavy that it made some streets in the city flooded. What's new.

Well, we all enjoyed the much needed summer rain, I'm sure. Thank God for sending the blessing today.

I Am Back

To be honest, this is one of my many attempts to start a blog. I can no longer count how many blog addresses I have made and how many entries I have submitted ever since I started writing. I usually create a blog site, write a few, get lost and start a new blog again. And yes, here I am again. I guess you already know where I came from. I got lost... all over again.

But even though I always reach the lazy point of writing, I always come back. The idea of writing haunts me all over again. I think, no matter how I get lazy to get the cursor moving, writing is still my thing. You can never make me speak in front of a crowd but if you ask me to write what to say to them, I'll gladly do it.

Maybe because I am more comfortable in writing my thoughts than thinking out loud. Words are my best friends. Blank spaces are my enemies. And this blog is my new haven. This is where my mind farts. This is where I will start all over again. And hopefully, I won't get lost this time around.

The Convenient Way to get an NBI Clearance

I need an NBI clearance for local employment. With this, I got myself ready for long lines early in the morning. Good thing a friend of mine introduced me to NBI Online.

This won't spare you from going to an NBI Branch but this would sure speed up the process. You just have to pay the fee for the clearance thru Gcash or Pinoy Pera Padala, Register at https://nbi-online.com/login, fill out the details needed to complete your registration, print your QR Code, get an appointentment thru SMS and shoot, you're good to visit the NBI branch of your choice. Click here for more info.

I arrived at Robinson's Galleria at around 11:45AM, my appointment is 12NN but I think it doesn't really matter, because they don't check it. I went straight to step 3 which is the biometrics lane, also the lane where the e-clearance process starts.

There's a short line when I got there, my turn was done at 12NN. Waited for the release, come 12:10PM my name was called, the staff handed me a receipt with a stamp at the back, February 19. Shoot! It was a hit. Have to go back on the 19th for my clearance. This is the first time I had a hit. Geez. But good thing everything's done in less than 30 minutes! Isn't that cool? So if you're wanting to get an NBI Clearance, DO NOT go there at 4AM just to get a number. Go to https://nbi-online.com/login for convenience. :-)
